A silly husband
Once was such a man whose wife gave birth to a son for him. Her husband was a silly man, and her family was very poor.
One day, the wife’s mother came to visit her. When she was on the way, she met her son-in-law, so she gave him some eggs and wine, and then said to her son-in-law: “When the water is boiling, you can crack the eggs in to cook them.” After his mother-in-law finished the instructions, she went back to her own home.
The son-in-law also went to the direction of his house, and he came to a field, saw the water flowing into the field and it looks like the water was boiling. At the moment, he thought about what his mother-in-law said to him, so he cracked the eggs into the water. After he walked for some distance, he found some olive fruits and he started taking some to eat, and then he continued to walk home. He felt thirsty, so he drank some water from there, and felt the water was very sweet (because he ate olives). Therefore, he thought in heart: “Wow, the water here is so sweet, and my wife surely will like it.” However, he didn’t have any water container, so he emptied the wine bottles and put “sweet” water in.
He said to his wife when he got home: “I met my mother-in-law today on my way, and she gave me some eggs and wine, asked me to bring home.” His wife asked him: “Very good. Where are the eggs and the wine?” He answered: “My mother-in-law said to me: ‘When the water is boiling, crack the eggs in to cook.’ So I cracked the eggs into the boiling water in the field, and I also emptied the wine bottles. However, I got some sweet water back for you.” His wife heard and scolded him “a big stupid man”. Then her husband got very angry, and beat his wife to death. He wrapped her in a mat and was going to throw her into a river. His wife fell out on the way, but he didn’t know it. On his way back home, he saw his wife on the road side and he said like this: “Ah, whose wife died here? She looks like my wife. I am going to return to the village and tell villagers about what I saw.” Finished saying these words, he walked back to the village with his head shaking left and right.
