Serious disease got healed
Zhang Gangqiang lives in a big city. He has believed in Jesus for many years and has a very good faith. He reads the Bible and prays often. He is always happy to share the gospel with others. Although he is very old, he likes to study and explain the Bible, and he proactively took the leadership of an Old Men Bible Study Group. He wanted to help every old man in the Bible Study Group to understand God’s words deeper.
One day, he ate a rotten banana accidently, and soon felt a stomachache. He thought it was just a common stomachache, so he took some medicine and rested at home. When he endured the pain to the next day, he went to the hospital for a checkup and an unfortunate thing happened, the test results show that his intestines got infected by a germ. The doctors began to treat him, but the germ he was infected with was very strong, and it made his inner organs begin to rotten.
On the third afternoon, the pastor made a notice to brothers and sisters in the church, saying: “Anyone who wants to visit brother Zhang in the hospital, please go as soon as possible, because the doctors said that he will return to the Lord after his taking the last drop of medicine transfusion tonight.” Many brothers and sisters went to the hospital to see him one after another.
I also took my wife and went to the hospital to see him. When we got to the hospital, our pastor was also in the ward, receiving visitors and comforting the patient’s family members, and getting ready to do things that should be done after brother Zhang dies. We entered the ward, the pastor suddenly said: “Please open your mouths to pray for brother Zhang.” I felt a dilemma caused by the sudden request: How should I pray for a patient whom the doctor said he would die on this very night? I thought for about a minute, and then stood beside brother Zhang’s bed and began to pray, and I prayed like this: “Dear Father God, I thank you that you led me to come and see brother Zhang whom is seriously sick. I don’t know how to pray for him, but I do remember two things. The first, he once asked me to give him study materials, and he said that he wanted to lead the Old Men Bible Study Group well, if he departs this world and goes back to you tonight, how can he fulfill his promise to you to help those old men to understand you deeper? The second, when you were in this world, once four people carried a paralyzed man to ask you for healing, they couldn’t bring that person to your front, so they dug a hole on your roof and lowered down the paralyzed man to your front, because of the four people’s faith you healed the paralyzed man. Now, oh Lord, because brother Zhang hasn’t done the things that he promised you he would do, and also because so many of us have been praying for him, for the sake of our faith, please heal him and make miracles happen. If you do so, he surely will tell more people about his own testimony, so that many people who hear his testimony story will be stronger in faith.”
After we finished the prayers, the machine to monitor brother Zhang’s vital signs, the wavy lines became more and more stable. The second day after our visit, we didn’t hear any news about his death, and on the third day after our visit, we heard that his disease got better. Less than a week, the pastor told us that brother Zhang was recovering amazingly, and he was discharged from the hospital. God healed him.
After brother Zhang came out of the hospital, his faith became stronger. He said: “God has dragged me back from the line of death, I will love and serve him more, I will wholeheartedly lead the Old Men Bible Study Group that He entrusted me.”
